100th Anniversary of First World War
2014 is the 100th Anniversary of WW1. To mark this special year a ceramic poppy was laid in the moat surrounding the Tower of London for each of the fallen.
This special memorial has touched the heart of the Nation and millions of people have journeyed to the Tower to stand in silent tribute to the men and women who gave their lives that we might thrive.
Villagers were pleased to see the War Memorial had been specially cleaned for the occasion thanks to the voluntary efforts of Mrs Cynthia Rawlings and Mr Peter Dean. After final prayers, all were invited to go back into the church for refreshments.
