AUTUMN FEAST 2012

Last year the Friends of St John’s Church laid on an Autumn Feast which was a great success. This year they have surpassed the high standard they became known for. On Saturday 9 November they enthralled 76 guests with a delightful, delicious and delicate menu of 5 courses interspersed with entertaining cameos from local people. There were songs and sketches which were warmly received by all. The Friends succeeded in raising an incredible £962.71 which will go towards the upkeep of the church building and graveyard. Pat Whitworth, Doro  thy Bashford and Alison Cross did the cooking with support from Maxine Hopton and Clare Allen. Jo Hollington and her helpers produced the puddings and Jo set up the tables ready for all the guests. Carolyn and Tim Lister ran the bar which so helped the evening be so enjoyable. The four waitresses Katie, Kate. Shannon and Amber did a  great job and deserve our gratitude for their helpfulness and cheerfulness. William Hollington, one of the Trustees gave a vote of thanks to all those involved at the end of the evening.
