100+ Club Social
Village Hall
24 November 2012
The Village Hall Trustees laid on another social evening in the Village Hall to thank their supporters. They provided an excellent light buffet and some entertainment. As before tickets were free to members and a nominal £5 was charged or non-members. There was a raffle, a licensed bar and a draw was made for the winner of the £50 prize. Carolyn Lister hosted the evening and her husband Tim did his usual grand job behind the bar. Coral Ford looked after the catering, ably assisted others Jackie Bird, Jackie Warren, George Bird, and Christine Lloyd. Dorothy and Judith made the trifles. Vikky Elmer helped with the washing up.
The draw was the second of the 2 annual specials and Derek Mead was the lucky winner. The entertainment was arranged by Chris Bashford who also performed. Other performers were Leigh Smith from the Kingfisher Players, Lorna Wood and Pete Milton, who was also the compere for the raffle.
The regular December draw will take place at 11 a.m. during the St John’s Church coffee morning. This will be the last draw for the year. The next draw will take place in February to cover the January and February draws. We will be collecting for 2013 during January. Look out for renewal forms in the next Village Magazine.
